Learning from Maya Deren and Other Female Filmmakers (6 weeks – Level: Age 18 and over)

In this class for adults, we will make art inspired by the films of Maya Daren, Alison Maclean, and Suzan Pitt. In their work, these filmmakers explore dream sequences, the unknown, use of symbols, and obsessive loops. We’ll choose frames from the films to draw from. Students will use pen and ink, charcoal, colored pencil, and watercolor to create their own work.
